Venetian-Style Face Masks

The face masks are created using the classic papier-mache tech­nique. The papier mache form is treated with a variety of fin­ishes including paints, metallic leaf treatments, crackle, anti­queing or a combination of these techniques. The masks are then lacquered for a porcelain-like finish and lined with velvet for comfort. Grosgrain ribbon loops are attached to each mask for hanging. Ribbon straps are attached to the masks with brass rivets for durability. I use natural and dyed feathers placed on the mask in a manner which reflects my inspiration from nature and compliments each mask. My signature for these masks is in the detail work: the central focus of each mask is a combination of natural gems including pyrite, amethyst, tur­quoise, tourmaline and malachite among others. The gems are then accented with a variety of genuine Swarovski crystals in a complimentary pallette.

Assorted Birds of Paradise Glass Ornaments

One-of-a-kind blown glass clip-on bird ornaments, air-brushed and treated with ultra-fine glass and mica glitters. The birds are accented with genuine Swarovski crystals - including the eyes. The ornaments are then given a long tail of natural peacock or dyed ostrich feathers and detailed with pheasant and /or peacock plumage.

Assorted Mini Masks Available as a Brooch, Hanging Ornament or Magnet

The mini-masks are created from fired clay and treated with a variety of finishes resulting in a porcelain-like feel. This re­sults in a resilient product which is less vulnerable to breakage. Each has hand-painted detail and is accented with fine glitters and genuine Swarovski crystals. Other accents include feather crests, ribbon collars and miniature silk roses. Mini masks are available as brooches, magnets or hanging ornaments.
